Study Tips

The study method that makes information actually stick

You have probably reread your notes until the words blurred and still forgot them in an exam or a meeting. The fix is not more reading, it is a different method entirely.

Active recall means testing yourself instead of reviewing. Close the material, write or say what you remember, and only then check what you missed. The struggle is the learning.

Spaced repetition takes it further. Review the same material at widening intervals, a day later, then a week, then a month. Each recall resets the forgetting curve.

Combine both and you get the most effective study routine known. Ten minutes of self-testing beats an hour of rereading, and it works for languages, code, and any technical subject. Harder feels worse in the moment but works better by the end.
